O2 Administration Training
When a diver has a serious problem, oxygen is one of the most important things you can give them. This course shows you how.
You'll learn the equipment and procedures for giving emergency oxygen, including what to use in a decompression illness emergency. You study online, then practice hands-on with an instructor.

How the course works
There are two parts. You finish the online academics first, then come in for the hands-on practical.
- Academics (online). You get a login at First Response Training International. Find the "My ELearning" tab to start your course.
- Hands-on practical (in person). Come to The Dive Shop at 429 W 500 S, Bountiful, UT for your practical training with an instructor.
You must finish the online part before your practical. When you complete both, you're issued a certificate and an electronic certification card, and you're a certified Oxygen Administrator.

- Equipment selection and use for decompression illness emergencies
- The procedures for administering oxygen as an emergency step
What you'll be able to do
- Recognize and evaluate an emergency and a victim
- Know how to alert emergency medical services (EMS)
- Give oxygen to a breathing or non-breathing person
The course is described as OSHA and ILCOR compliant.

Training to be a Rescue Diver?
Our Rescue Diver course requires a current emergency oxygen administration card, so this class is a good first step. You'll also need CPR and first aid, which we cover in Adult, Child and Infant Emergency Care.
