Owner / Instructor
Bob learned to dive in 1984 and became an instructor in 2004. He was named Instructor of the year in 2011 and 2012, and is an instructor for Open Water, Rescue, Nitrox, and a variety of specialty courses, Technical Diver, and Public Safety Diver. Bob served 30 years in the Bountiful and South Davis Fire Departments, and is certified to teach First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen Administration.
Owner / Instructor
Mac began diving when he was 10 years old, inspired by “The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau” and “Sea Hunt”. He certified in 1970 in the cold lakes of Spokane WA, then moved to Seattle and later southern California. He has dived in Micronesia, Caribbean, Spain, Japan, Thailand, Bali, Western Australia, and the Red Sea. Mac served 21 years in the U.S. Marine Corps prior to coming to Utah.
Instructor Trainer
John has been a Scuba instructor since 1991 and has certified over 2,000 students, earning the Top Certifying Instructor award for the Western U.S. in 2004. He holds certification as an SDI Instructor, Instructor Trainer, TDI Instructor, and IT Staff Instructor Trainer and has 13 instructor specialties. He co-authored and published manuals for both Open Water Student and Advanced Open Water diving.

Glen learned to dive in 1982, became a Scuba instructor in 1984, and an instructor trainer in 1996. His experience on Police dive teams helps to keep students in line. He loves wreck diving and his favorite dive location is Fiji.
Scuba Instructor
Cameron loves the outdoors. When he is not diving, you can find him in the mountains fishing, hunting, camping or skiing. Cameron started diving in 1999. His favorite place to dive so far is Roatan, Honduras at a location called Mary’s Place. He became an Instructor in 2014. He loves helping others to learn new skills that help them overcome their fears of the water.

Jessica has been diving since 2016 and quickly worked up the ranks to Instructor by 2018.

Kacy grew up in Miami and started diving as a teenager. The Florida Keys were her playground and she considers herself a citizen of the Conch Republic. She completed her Instructor certification in the cold waters of California. Kacy is pursuing dive medicine as a career and is especially interested in using scuba diving as recreational water therapy for disabled divers.

Jennifer originally came to The Dive Shop as a University of Utah student for her Open water certification in May and her Advanced in chilly December of 2018. Inspired to learn more and do better she completed her Divemaster in October of 2019 and Assistant Instructor in 2022. She loves camping, scuba and stand up paddleboards. She is currently working towards her Advanced EMT certification. She recently completed her Instructor certificaiton and is excited to begin teaching the sport she loves.
First Response Instructor
James dove for a couple years beginning in 1973 in southern California. He returned to diving in 2016 with The Dive Shop and became a Divemaster in 2019. He went through what he calls his “intensive scuba boot camp”—30 days of full-time training to become an instructor—in Bali, Indonesia early in 2020. He has dived in California, Florida, Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Roatan, St Thomas, Zanzibar, and of course, Bali.

Floyd learned to dive in the summer of 2007 and became a Divemaster in 2011. He has been diving is a wide variety of locations, including Hawaii, Guam, Honduras, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, San Clemente Island, and the Disney World aquarium.

Jessica became a Scuba diver in the winter of 2012 when she was a grad student and though it would be a fun class to motivate her while she was writing her thesis. She likes the weightless feeling while exploring underwater. Her favorite dive spot is Kauai, Hawaii.

Mandy learned to Scuba dive in 2018 and immediately “caught fire” – advancing quickly through Advanced and Rescue certifications, and completed her Divemaster certification in 2019. She plans to study Marine Biology in the near future.

Maddie learned to dive in 2015 in South Africa, and since has worked her way up to Divemaster by way of the Philippines, Thailand, and Mexico. She is qualified as an Eco-Scientific Divemaster, focusing on coastal ecology and training and is a certified EMT.
